Zotac RTX 2070 Mini - 4k gaming on a (not so) small form factor?
After using and reviewing the mini-ITX-able GTX 1070 Ti powerhouse by Inno3d, I came across a GPU that offered even better bang for the buck. When i was looking for a new card in November 2018, any Zotac mini cards were way overpriced. This has changed since then!
Zotac is known for their Mini cards. Being on the lookout for a new small size card, there was no way I could have missed their lineup. They are know for good customer service and the cards have a slick design - or do they?
Especially compared to other double fan cards like for example the significantly larger MSI models, it seems Zotac simply went for a clever arrangement and ditched some spare place at the back end and in between the fans that would likely not affect cooling at all.
However, while not sacrificing much in terms of cooling, the card also isnt that "Mini"! Personally, i use it in a small tower PC and it fits right in. But for gamers looking to build really tiny rigs, this card may just be too high, or too long, or both!
Connectivity is up to modern standards, with plenty of HDMI or DisplayPort connections possible.
The performance is just awesome. While theres people whining about RTX-games not actually being able to RTX on the 2070, i couldnt care less. The 2070 is still a card thats en par or better than the GTX 1080 in performance and at least in my case, comes at a comparable price point.
However, it may be too large for some really tiny builds. But for turning a usual office PC into a gaming beast, this is just the right choice.
+great Performance
+acceptable cooling performance under load
o volatile price, mostly in the middle of the RTX2070 non-OC range
-too large for some builds
-too small for enthusiast OC-tweaking
Zotac RTX 2070 Mini
For some reason, german retailers decided to go nuts and sell RTX 2070 Mini cards at just 470€. At just 50€ more than my GTX 1070 Ti, this was just too good of a deal to let go,
so I bought one and decided to try whether it was worth to keep it and ditch my few-days-old Inno3d Card.Zotac is known for their Mini cards. Looks and connectivity

Black matte paintwork on the case. Metal casing all the way. Backlit brand logo on the side. Fans with metal logos.
This is a high-end GPU, and it looks and feels like one, too. Comparing it to the simpler Inno3d, the card with its two large, differently sized fans just looks like a much more sophisticated piece of craftsmanship - it seems as if this card isnt built to run, its built to run perfectly. With the actual size of the card and its cooling solution, its hard for me to imagine that a larger card will actually run a lot cooler.Especially compared to other double fan cards like for example the significantly larger MSI models, it seems Zotac simply went for a clever arrangement and ditched some spare place at the back end and in between the fans that would likely not affect cooling at all.

Noise and performance
The card runs pretty quiet.
It doesnt zero-fan, but with a closed case its still very quiet and i couldnt tell a lot of difference to my old GTX 960 which has zero-fan.When comparing it to the Inno3D GTX 1070 ti, there is a slight increase in noise though.
However, its unnoticeable during gaming, and the noise doesnt increase as much during gaming as with the Inno3D GTX 1070ti.The performance is just awesome. While theres people whining about RTX-games not actually being able to RTX on the 2070, i couldnt care less. Comprehension
If you need a card that delivers 4k Performance at a reasonable price point and dont mind the relatively small cooler (or even need one), this GPU is just what you need. However, it may be too large for some really tiny builds. But for turning a usual office PC into a gaming beast, this is just the right choice.
